On September 1, 1992, Maarten Prak and Jan Luiten van Zanden took office as part-time professors of Social and Economic History after the Middle Ages at Utrecht University. After thirty years, this career-share will come to and end on June 15, 2022, which will be marked by their valedictory lectures in the Domkerk, Utrecht. The June 15 program is as follows:

15.45 – 16.00 Performance of the first version of the Utrecht Magnificat, especially composed by Monique Krüs for Utrecht 900 years, Utrecht Bach cantatas 55 years and these valedictory lectures and performed by choir and orchestra of the Utrecht Bach cantatas
16.00 Valedictory lecture Maarten Prak: Utrecht as a European City

17.00 – 19.00 Reception at Aula en Pandhof
You should be present well in advance; guests can no longer be admitted after the the cortège has entered the church. Seating is free, with the exception of the seats reserved for the professors and for the choir and orchestra of Utrecht Bach cantatas.
