Graduation Form Masters - LIACS

Please read carefully before continuing.

- Students who wish to receive a master’s degree must complete this graduation form.
- Once you have started this form, you have to complete it. It cannot be saved to complete at a later time.

- Students must be enrolled at Leiden University at the time this graduation form is completed.

Graduation March 2026:

The formal graduation date is the last working day of the month in which all components are completed.

For attending:

- March graduation ceremony, deadline for filling out this form: January 5th
- Master’s thesis presentation (defense) should take place no later than this date: January 9th
- Deadline for thesis supervisors to submit the final thesis grade to the Science Student Administration: January 23rd


If a student does not want to attend a ceremony: The form must be completed no later than the last working day of the month preceding the graduation date. If you have already completed components but are still awaiting assessment, please indicate when the component was completed. 

NB. The student must answer the questions of this form fully. A check will then be made to ensure all requirements have been met. If permission cannot be granted, the student will be notified as soon as possible, stating the conditions that must still be met to be admitted to the exam at a later date.

NOTE:

At our department you do not need to take any other action, like applying for graduation through uSis. The education coordinator and study advisor will arrange the following:

- check if you have met all study requirements;

- inform the Science Student Administration about your intentions to graduate, so that the administrative arrangements in uSis can be started.

 

NOTE:

Your supervisor is responsible to send your final thesis to the education coordinator. Please note that the thesis needs to have the standard front page, which can be found on the Brightspace Master Class page.
